What kinds of services do you offer?
What kinds of services do you offer? How much does it cost to come to the Early Years Centre?We offer programs and playgroups for children six or younger and their parents and caregivers. We have a library where people can sign out books and toys and we also help parents and caregivers to connect to community resources and find information on topics such as prenatal and postnatal support, nutrition and child development.
How much does it cost to come to the Early Years Centre?
Our programs and services are made available through funding received from the provincial government and our community partnerships as well as through donations directed to our health centre. Our programs are offered free of charge to people who live in Guelph.
What ages are accepted at the Early Years Centre?
Our programs are for children from birth to six years and their parents and caregivers.
Can brothers and sisters come to the programs?
Some of our programs have room for brothers and sisters and some do not. Our Children's Programs page has information on each of our programs.
Do I have to sign in each time I come to the Early Years Centre?
Yes, we ask all visitors to sign in when they arrive at the Early Years Centre.
Can I drop my kids off and go shopping?
No. The Early Years Centre is a place for parents and caregivers to spend time with their children.
Can other relatives, like grandparents, bring in my children?
Yes. Relatives are welcome to bring your children to our centre.
How many children can relatives and caregivers bring in?
Please note that caregivers must be 18 years old with no more than five children in their care.
Do you provide child care? How can I find child care for my child?
Although we are not a child care centre, we may be able to help you find child care for your child. Please call our receptionist at (519) 821-6638.
How does the toy library work?
You are welcome to join our Toy Lending Library and visit our downtown office to borrow toys. The membership fee is $25 per year. You will be asked for your address and telephone number and the toys can be kept for up to three weeks. Our Library Services page has information about the types of toys you can borrow and when the Toy Library is open.
Where can I find out about what to feed my baby?
We have lots of information and resources for people looking for ideas about what to feed their baby. For more information please check our nutrition services page or call (519) 821-6638 and ask to speak to our community dietitian.
When are your breastfeeding clinics?
Our Breastfeeding Services page has information on where and when our breastfeeding clinics take place.
Where are you located?
We have a main office downtown at 176 Wyndham Street North and we also have a satellite site at Stone Road Mall. You can find these sites on our locations page. Our Parent-Child Place playgroups take place at a variety of locations throughout Guelph which are outlined on our Parent-Child Place schedule.
